After an intense performance in The Girl On The Train, Parineeti Chopra is back with another interesting venture, Saina. The film is based on Indian Badminton player Saina Nehwal. The film is being helmed by Amole Gupte. Saina is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Sujay Jairaj and Rashesh Shah under the banner of T-Series and Front Foot Pictures with Manav Kaul and Paresh Rawal in key roles.
Earlier Shradha Kapoor was roped in to play the titular role but later Parineeti stepped in for the role. She has been training hard for the role to ace the look.
The trailer clearly shows the fruits of her hard work! The diva is owning the look and every single frame reveals her dedication to the part.
Saina Nehwal is one of the most celebrated sports stars in the country. She has won over 24 international titles and attained the world no. 1 ranking in 2015. The player is the only female player from India to attain the title of being the world’s number one. Moreover, she has represented India three times in the Olympics.
Her journey in the field of sports is nothing less than inspirational and she has been awarded prestigious accolades like Arjuna Award, Most Promising Player of the Year, Padma Shri, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and the latest one being Padma Bhushan in 2016.
On the personal front, Saina married fellow badminton player, Parupalli Kashyap, in 2018.
Meanwhile, the film’s teaser was released a few days back and that generated a lot of buzz on social media. It will be exciting to Parineeti in this new look!
It is slated to release on March 26, 2021. It was earlier slated to release in 2020 but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the release date was pushed.
