Rakul Preet Singh’s team admits receiving NCB summons; actress to undergo interrogation on September 25

Narcotics Control Bureau’s investigation in an alleged drug case, related to Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, took a new turn when names of four A-listers cropped up. On Wednesday, the NCB issued summons to Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan. The actresses have come under the scanner for their alleged involvement in the drug case.
Actress Rakul Preet Singh’s team, as per a report, had claimed that the actress has not received any summon. Multiple reports have claimed that Sushant’s girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty has taken Rakul’s name during the investigation.
A tweet by Times Now read, “Team Rakul Preet Singh claims that they haven’t received any summons by the NCB. She is unlikely to join the probe today. Summons served digitally: NCB sources.”y
However, as per the latest updates, Rakul has acknowledged the summon by NCB and will appear before the body tomorrow (September 25).
Simone Khambatta and Shruti Modi are appearing before the NCB today. Simone, who is a popular fashion designer, was also seen arriving at the NCB office earlier today.
Meanwhile, as per news agency ANI, Deepika been summoned on September 25, Shraddha and Sara have been asked to appear before the NCB on September 26. The actresses, however, have not said anything about the summon as of now.
Rhea, who was arrested on September 8, was remanded to 14-day judicial custody till September 22 for her alleged involvement in the drug case related to the actor’s death. However, her judicial custody has now been extended till October 6. Rhea’s brother Showik and a few others have also been arrested by the NCB.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also been probing Sushant’s death case. The Enforcement Directorate has also recorded statements of a few people in relation to the death case.
Sushant, 34, passed away on June 14. He was found dead at his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai. Initially, the death case was being probed by the Mumbai police. The Bihar Police also investigated the case for a short while after Sushant’s father, KK Singh filed an FIR against Rhea.
