Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday paid a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid in his office room.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked the President for delivering a commemorative speech on the life, work and ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the special session of Parliament on the occasion of ‘Mujib Borsho’.
President Hamid delivered his special speech in Parliament marking the ‘Mujib Borsho’ in the evening.
The Prime Minister and the President discussed the overall situation of the country, including the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sheikh Hasina briefed Abdul Hamid on various steps taken by the government to address the coronavirus situation.
The President appreciated the initiatives and hoped that Bangladesh would continue to move forward on the path of development and progress by tackling the pandemic.
President’s wife Rashida Khanom was also present during the courtesy meeting.
