No more first, second COVID doses after Oct 3 in country

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has hinted that first and second doses of COVID vaccine may not be available in the country after October 3 as the vaccine date will be expired.

“No first and second dose will be available after October 3. And COVID vaccination campaign for the children aged 5-11 under district and upazila levels will start from October 11.”

Minister Zahid said these in National Advocacy Workshop on COVID-19 vaccination for children in the capital on Saturday.

He requested those who will still not receive the first, second and third doses to take the vaccine within September 28-October 3 as the campaign will begin in the country from September 28.

After that, the first two COVID doses will not be available in Bangladesh, Zahid Maleque added.

He said currently, 2.5 lakh people are working to ensure COVID-19 vaccination and of them 60,000 are administering the vaccines. Already, 30 crore doses of COVID vaccine have been administered across the country.
