DNCC councillor Rajib held

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) detained Tarequzzaman Rajib, councillor from ward No-33 of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Saturday night for his alleged involvement in casino business.

A team of Rab-1 picked the councillor up from a house in Bashundhara Residential Area around 11:20 pm, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Quamruzzaman, company commander of the Rab battalion.

The ward councillor went into hiding after the crackdown on illegal casino business began on September 18 last.
