Buriganga launch capsize: Moyur-2 launch master held

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested Moyur-2 launch master Abul Basher Mollah on Sunday night in a case filed over a launch capsize in the Buriganga River on June 29 that left 32 people dead.

He was nabbed from Dakhhin Keraniganj area at night.
RAB headquarters legal and media wing’s newly appointed director Lt Col Ashiq Billah confirmed.
On June 29,  Dhaka-bound ‘MV Morning Bird’ launch carrying around 150 passengers from Munshiganj sank after being hit by ‘Mayur-2’ near Shyambazar in the capital’s old town.
Bodies of 34 people were recovered after the launch capsize.
Mohammad Shamsul, sub-inspector of Sadarghat River Police Station, filed a case at South Keraniganj Police Station the following day.
