‘Boycott Adipurush’ trends on Twitter after Saif Ali Khan says film justifies Ravan’s

Saif Ali Khan has once again become a target of social media trolls. The actor has come under fire for his statement pertaining to his character of Lankesh aka Ravan in the upcoming film Adipurush. He said that director Om Raut has made the evil character humane and entertaining. He even went on to say that the film’s plot justifies Lankesh’s abduction of Sita.

Mumbai Mirror quoted Saif saying, “It’s interesting to play a demon king, less strictures in that. But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off her nose.”

Ever since the interview came out, Saif is being trolled on social media left, right and centre. While a host of users are demanding boycott of Adipurush, there are others who are tweeting with hashtag #WakeUpOmRaut. Many have demanded removal of Saif from the film.

“#BoycottAdipurush as Long as this Mоrоn Saif Ali Khan is part of the movie. Why are you bent on twisting facts @omraut?? Justifying Sita Abduction & showing Ravan as humane -SPARE US THIS АSNINЕ WOKEISM,” said one user.
