Three die as boat carrying bridal party sinks in Padma

At least three people, including two children, died as a boat carrying bridal party members capsized in the Padma River at Sreerampur in Rajshahi on Friday.

Two of the deceased were identified as Rushni, 7 and Mariom Khatun, 8.

According to the source, they died after they were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Rajshahi Sadar Fire Service Station Officer Abdur Rauf said: “The boat carrying 40 to 50 wedding party members sank in the Padma River around 7:30 pm on Friday. The rescue operation is underway
