Tanjin Tisha makes web-film debut with ‘Poison’
Actress Tanjin Tisha has recently made her debut in the world of web films with the premiere of “Poison”, directed by Sanjay Samaddar. The film, which premiered on Deepto Play yesterday, follows the tumultuous journey of actress Rupa Mirza, played by Tanjin Tisha.
“Poison” delves into the life of Rupa, who, after achieving stardom and earning awards for her performance, throws a celebration that turns sinister. As the night progresses, secrets and past grievances emerge among the guests, revealing hidden faces and true intentions. The storyline takes a dark turn, exploring themes of greed, old wounds, and rising corpses, metaphorically depicting the consequences of a poisoned past.
Director Sanjay Samaddar skillfully portrays this complex narrative, offering a raw look at the life of a heroine striving for success in a ruthless industry. Tanjin Tisha’s portrayal of Rupa Mirza captures the essence of a woman grappling with her ambitions and the shadows of her history.
Initially hesitant about taking on the lead role, Tisha confessed, “I have never acted in movies, so I didn’t have much insight into the life of a heroine.” To prepare, she immersed herself in the world of cinema, studying the experiences and challenges faced by actresses. “Becoming Rupa Mirza required thorough study and dedication. I hope the audience will appreciate my performance and not be disappointed,” she shared.
Director Sanjay Samaddar commented on the film’s underlying message, stating “Anything in excess of necessity can become poison. This ambiguity gives rise to various survival equations. Whether through hard work, talent, or deception, we all try to navigate the complexities of life. Ultimately, the story of our lives seems to be written by someone else.”
The film also stars Abu Hurayra Tanvir as the struggling hero, marking his first collaboration with both Samaddar and Tisha. Tanvir remarked on the relatable nature of his character’s journey in the cinema world, hoping it would resonate with both actors and audiences.
“Poison” features a talented ensemble cast including Tiger Robi, Rawnak Ripon, Abdullah Al Sentu, AK Azad Shetu, and SM Sohag. Written by Mamunur Rashid Tanim, the film promises a unique storyline that engages viewers.
The premiere event at Star Cineplex in Bashundhara City was a star-studded affair, attended by Deepto TV Managing Director Kazi Jahedul Hasan, CEO Fuad Chowdhury, Digital Media Head Mohammad Abu Nasim, the film’s director, lead actors, and other notable personalities from Deepto TV.
“Poison” is now available for streaming on Deepto Play.
