Bollywood actress Renuka Shahane has reacted strongly to Kangana Ranaut’s ‘soft porn star’ remark on actress-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar.

Days after Kangana Ranaut hit the headlines for calling Urmila Matondkar a ‘soft porn star’, actress Renuka Shahane has reacted strongly to the Queen actress’ remark. The actress, stating that it crosses the line of decency, said that some people think it’s their freedom of expression.

Without holding back, the actress said that it’s one’s choice of how they want to lead their life. “It crosses the line of decency, there are some people who do it all the time, and there are others who believe that should not be done,” the actress told Hindustan Times in an interview.

She further asked as to what can be done about it, saying, “… some people think crossing the line of decency and saying the most vile things is their freedom of expression.”

Kangana stirred a massive storm on social media after the actress, in an interview with Times Now, said that Urmila is not known for her acting skills and went on to call her a ‘soft porn star’. She also said that she doesn’t need to do much to get a political ticket. The Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi actress was reacting to the actress-turned-politician’s remark on the alleged drug row in Bollywood. Urmila, in her reaction, had questioned Kangana as to why she isn’t waging war against drugs in Himachal Pradesh, the state where her residence is.

After Kangana attacked Urmila during her interview, many from the film fraternity backed the Rangeela actress on social media. From Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhasker to filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, the celebs spoke out in support of Urmila.

 

In the past few months, Kangana has been constantly in the news for her many remarks on the film industry members, alleged drug row in Bollywood, the Maharashtra government, and the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
