Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe becomes highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2021



Tamil legend Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe hit the thatres on Diwali and has already stormed the box office. As per reports, the film is almost sold out for most of the shows in the last three days and is already breaking box office records.
As per latest reports, Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe has become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2021 at the US box office within three days. The Rajinikanth-starrer released on more than 500 screens in the USA market. The film has reportedly grossed more than $600K within 3 days to become the highest grosser in the US.
According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Annaatthe USA box office saw a gross of $122,829 on Saturday and a total gross of $743,533 which is around Rs 5.50 crore.

According to a report by ETimes, Annatthe is expected to continue its box office streak and it won’t be a surprise if the film develops as the highest-grossing Tamil film at the US box office of all time. The report further adds that Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor and Vijay’s Master stand second and third in ranking list of the highest grossing Tamil films in the US for the year.
Earlier trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan had tweeted that the film managed to mint Rs 70.19 crore gross on its opening day at the box office. On its second day, at theatres, the Rajinikanth-starrer showed a drop in its performance collecting only Rs 42.43 crore. However, Annaatthe’s worldwide gross box office collection stands at Rs 112.82 crore after two days of release, which makes the film one of the biggest hits of 2021.
Annaatthe, directed by Siva stars Rajinikanth, Keerthy Suresh and Nayanthara in main roles.Jagapathi Babu, Abhimanyu Singh, Prakash Raj, Soori, Meena, Khushbu, Bala, Kulappulli Leela, and Vela Ramamoorthy are in the film in supporting roles.
The film was officially announced in October 2019 and released on November 4, 2021 on the occasion of Diwali.
