Bollywood actor Asif Basra’s demise has left shock waves across the country. The actor, who was 53, was found hanging in a private complex in Dharamshala. While the police are suspecting it to be a case of suicide, no cause of death has been confirmed yet. The late actor was a celebrated artiste in the country, who weaved magic on the big screen with films like Jab We Met, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, Ek Villian and web series like Paatal Lok and Hostages Season 2.

The news of his demise shook the entertainment industry today. Several celebs have shared posts expressing their grief and are mourning his loss. Anushka Sharma took to Instagram and wrote, “My sincere condolences and prayers with the family and loved ones. RIP Asif Basra.”

Director Rahul Dholakia took to Twitter and shared that the late actor was a “jovial fellow.” He wrote, “Shocked to hear about Basra!! What a wonderful actor and a jovial fellow – I mean why would he ??  Very Sad – Had directed him in Parzania ( Chagan) , in Lamhaa ( the Darzee ) – and also in society – Very sad to hear about his passing !! #asifbasra Hope you are at peace.”

Dil Bechara director Mukesh Chhabra wrote, “This can’t be true Asif Bhai, we have done so much work together from Kai Po Che to Hostages 2 I can not believe this! Whatttt is happening??????????? #asifbasra”

Kareena Kapoor Khan took to Instagram and wrote, “Rest In peace Asif Basra… heartfelt condolences to the family and friends.”

Priyanka Chopra, too, shared a heartbreaking note on Twitter and stated that his demise was a terrible loss. The actress wrote, “RIP Asif Basra.. A terrible loss of a talented, versatile artist. My deepest condolences to the family. “
