Over 100 BNP leaders, workers including Rizvi sued

A case has been filed against 29 BNP leaders for demonstrating and bringing out torch procession in protest against repealing the freedom fighter title of the party founder and former president Ziaur Rahman.

Those who have been sued are BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Dhaka City South president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, and central executive committee member Nipun Roy Chowdhury.

Besides, 100 to 120 unidentified persons have been made accused in the case.

Sub-inspector Golap Uddin Mahmud filed the case with Shahbagh Police Station in the capital on Wednesday night.

Earlier, Jatiya Muktijoddha Council in its 72nd meeting decided to repeal Ziaur Rahman’s gallantry title.
