Now another garbage truck runs over a media worker

A day after the death of Notre Dame College student Naim Hasan, a former employee of a national daily has been killed as a garbage truck of Dhaka North City Corporation hit him in city’s Panthapath area.
The deceased was identified as Ahsan Kabir Khan, 45. He was a former employee of the daily Prothom Alo.
The accident took place at around 2.30 pm in front of Bashundhara City at Panthapath in the capital on Thursday.
Rana, an employee of Bashundhara Shopping Mall, said, “I saw a motorcyclist being crushed by the garbage truck of Dhaka North City Corporation while crossing the road.”
Nadira Begum, wife of the deceased, said that her husband left home at around 11.00am to go to Mirpur on business purpose. “Later, I heard the news of the accident.”
Kalabagan Police Station sub-inspector (Golam Rabbani said, “We know from the people in the area that Ahsan Kabir was riding a motorcycle. He was hit by a DNCC garbage truck and fell on the road. Later, he was crushed to death by the wheel of the truck.”
He was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Earlier on Wednesday, Naim Hasan, a student of Notre Dame College, was killed when a garbage truck of Dhaka South City
Corporation (DSCC) hit him at Gulistan which sparked protest in the city.
Agitating students are protesting against this and demanding justice for their classmate and safety of road.
