No supplements unless newspapers implement 8th Wage Board

Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud has said that the government will not provide any supplements to newspapers which have not implemented the 8th Wage Board.

He made the remarks while giving away the cheques of Journalist Welfare Trust at Secretariat on Tuesday (April 26).

The Information Minister said, “We have decided not to give supplements to those (newspapers) which have not implemented the 8th Wage Board. Roaming to receive supplements hurriedly will stop.”

“We are also contemplating necessary steps against those who will not implement the 9th Wage Board in future,” he said.
