Missing Buet student’s body recovered from Shitalakkhya River

Police recovered the body of a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) from Shitalakkhya River in Narayanganj yesterday (November 7, 2022).
The deceased was identified as Fardin Noor Parash (24), a third-year student of Civil Engineering department of Buet, said Moniruzzaman, officer-in-Charge of Narayanganj Sadar River Police Station.
The body was recovered from Banani Ghat under Siddhirganj Police Station around 4:30 pm, the OC told our Narayanganj correspondent.
Fardin, the eldest of the three brothers, lived with his family in Konapara area of Demra in Dhaka.
While talking to this correspondent, the victim’s father Nuruddin Rana said Fardin’s mobile phone was switched off at 11:30 pm since Friday (November 4, 2022). His last location was in Rampura Police S
tation area.
A general diary was also filed with the police station on Saturday (November 5) as he could not be found anywhere, said Nuruddin.
“I got a call from the river police this (November 7, 2022) evening and went to Narayanganj and identified Fardin’s body,” he added.
OC Moniruzzaman also said the relatives identified the body, which has been sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
No case was filed in this connection till 10 pm last night.
