Missing Bangladeshi student’s body found in Canada river

Canada’s police recovered the body of a Bangladeshi student from Red River in Winnipeg of the country’s Manitoba province on Wednesday, 18 days after he went missing from Fort Garry area.
The deceased was identified as Sami Uzzaman Sami, 24, son of Md Asadul Islam, hailing from Kaliganj upazila in Jhenaidah.
Sami was an Honours’ student in Computer Science at University of Manitoba. In addition, he was engaged in a part-time job as a data analyst at a company called ‘Bison Transport’ in Manitoba.
According to sources, Sami used to live in a rented apartment with some other Bangladeshi friends near the Red River.
Winnipeg City Police said Sami had been missing since January 9 but his friends informed police on January 20.
They said Sami’s family has been notified.
