Microbus pulled from Padma, driver still missing

The Fire Service and Civil Defence recovered the microbus, plunged into the River Padma from a pontoon in the Daulatdia ghat, around three hours after the accident.

But, the microbus driver is still missing.

BIWTC, Rajbari Fire Service and paturia took part in the rescue operation.

The microbus was pulled from the river around 2pm, but none was inside.

The microbus fell into the river at about 11:15am after the wire of a pontoon at Daulatdia ghat 5 was torn by nor’wester.

At that time, locals said that a number of passengers were on board the vehicle.
