The government has closed all tourist destinations, resorts, community centres and entertainment centres for 10 days as they extended the ongoing lockdown until June 16 to check the spread of deadly coronavirus.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification on Sunday extending the period by ten days mentioning few new restrictions to follow. It was also informed that all the previous restrictions will remain in force during the lockdown.
According the new restriction imposed by the government, public gatherings for social, political and religious programmes will also be banned from June 6 midnight to June 16 midnight.
The restaurants would, however, be allowed to sale foods for takeaway or online 6:00am to 10:00pm.
Deputy commissioners of high-risk districts will take necessary measures to restrain the coronavirus spread in respective areas after discussing with the concerned committees.

All kinds of public transports, including inter-district buses, can carry passengers at half capacity, maintaining health guidelines including wearing of facemasks by passengers and all concerned.

The government imposed the countrywide restrictions on public movement on April 5 this year and enforced the ‘strict lockdown’ from April 14. The lockdown was later extended several times.
Bangladesh reported its first Covid cases on March 8 last year and the first death on the 18th of that month.
