Latifur Rahman laid to eternal rest at Banani Graveyard

Transcom Group chairman Latifur Rahman was laid to eternal rest at Banani Graveyard on Wednesday night next to his younger daughter.
His body was brought to the capital from his village home Cumilla’s Chouddagram upazila and a namaz-e-janaza was held at Azad Masjid in Gulshan after Esha prayers.
After janaza, he was buried in presence of the family members.
Zaraif Ayaat Hossain, grandson of Latifur Rahman, urged all to pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
Mentioning his brother Faraaz Ayaaz Hossain died exactly four years ago in terror attack at the Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan, Zaraif said, “Our grandfather has left us on the same day.”
The publisher of leading dailies Daily Star and Prothom Alo, died in his sleep at his village home in Chouddagram upazila around 11:30am on Wednesday.
Latifur Rahman is survived by his wife, one son, two daughters and a host of admirers.
He had been suffering from various illness for the last two years and he used to live at his village home most of the time.
His another daughter Shazneen Rahman was killed in 1998 at her residence in Gulshan in the capital.
