Seems like things aren’t going to start looking up for Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad anytime soon. Her latest action flick, projected to be power-packed seems to have left theatres empty, resulting in a box-office disaster. It is fair to say that while many screens have discontinued the movie, some are still running shows at major losses.
According to a box-office report in Bollywood Hungama, On Day 8, believe it or not, the movie sold mere 20 tickets, resulting in an earning of Rs 4,420, a total disaster for a movie of such altitude. Considering, it was supposed to be one of the costliest female-led films, this number sure does come as a shocker.
Earning a lifetime Rs 3 crore, it has been reported that Dhaakad still continues to struggle with an OTT release, owing to the producers not cracking a deal prior to the release. If this streak continues, then the Kangana-led movie is bound to make more losses than expected.
It was earlier reported by Bollywood Hungama that Dhaakad spent around Rs 80 to 90 crore on production, leading to massive trouble for makers as the movie sinks, despite getting mixed reviews from the masses.
In any case, the audience seems to have passed on the flick, instead opting to give foot traffic to Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The horror comedy has surpassed all expectations and is expected to join the Rs 100 crore club today, May 28.
