It is going to be a year since the rumour, reports, and speculations started around the sequel of Anil Kapoor and late Sridevi-starrer Mr India. The sequel, even before its announcement, grabbed eyeballs for several reasons, including the alleged cast, copyrights, and script. There were also reports that claimed that late Sridevi never wanted the sequel of the film. Now, in an interview, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, who will be directing Mr India shed light on the movie and also revealed whether late Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor will reprise her role or not.

While talking to an entertainment portal, Ali shared that they will start the shoot of the film from October 2021. The filmmaker added that the sequel will be different from the earlier one that starred Anil Kapoor and the late Sridevi. Talking about whether Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun Kapoor will be a part of the film, Ali shared that the cast has not been decided yet.

In an interview with Etimes, when Ali was asked whether late Sridevi’s daughter, actress Janhvi will reprise her mother’s role in Mr India, the filmmaker shared, “Early days still, but Boney Kapoor will be really happy if that happens.”
