Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, MP, Friday said the government has taken adequate steps to check the price hike of essentials through monitoring the market.
“A number of hoarders, who were trying to stock essential goods, have already been arrested,” he told reporters at his residence on PTI Road in Kushtia this morning.

Hanif said many commodities, including edible oil, have also been seized and as a result, the market is slowly being brought under control, reports BSS.

“We believe that the current volatile situation in the market will no longer exist. It will soon become stable,” he said.

Replying to a question, the AL general secretary said the BNP leaders have actually become puzzled, while many of them now seem losing their mental balance.

Noting that the BNP leaders are making inconsistent remarks, he said BNP failed in running the state, while the BNP leaders were involved in endless graft.

“Today they (BNP leaders) have become isolated from people due to their corruption,” Hanif added.

Kushtia-4 MP, Barrister Selim Altaf George and Kushtia Zila AL leaders were present.
