EC shouldn’t assume the role of arbitrator: Inu

“The main responsibility of the Election Commission (EC) to hold a fair election. It should not play any role for arbitration. It is not its responsibility to look into which party joins election or which party rejects election.”

It was stated by Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) president Hasanul Huq Inu taking part in ongoing dialogue with the EC at Nirbachan Bhaban at Agargaon in the capital on Sunday (July 24).

Inu said, “It’s your (EC) responsibility to hold dialogues with all the political parties. If any particular political party hatches conspiracy for the downfall of a constitutional government instead of taking part in election, you should consider how dangerous it is. They are anti-liberation forces. They are trying to implement the agenda of anti-independence forces.”

“So, it is not the EC’s responsibility which party joins election or which party not. Election will take place in time constitutionally. It is not a big issue which party takes part in the election, or which party not. The next election will be acceptable to all,” Inu also said.
