Dhaka city polls now on February 1

Elections to both the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will be held on February 1 instead of January 30.
The Election Commission (EC) rescheduled the Dhaka city elections amid growing protests and demand to defer the polls.
The EC took the decision at an emergency meeting on Saturday.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda presided over the meeting.
Earlier on December 22, the EC set January 30 for holding Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) polls simultaneously.
