Charges pressed against Samrat, Arman in narcotics case

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) pressed charge sheet in a narcotics case filed with capital’s Ramna Police Station against former Jubo League leaders Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat and Enamul Haque Arman.
Investigation officer (IO) and RAB-1 sub-inspector Abdul Halim filed the charge sheet today before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masudur Rahman.
The court is scheduled to hold the hearing in the case on December 15.
RAB filed two cases against Samrat with Ramna Police Station on the afternoon of October 7, making Arman co-accused in the narcotics case.
On October 6, Rab arrested Dhaka South Jubo League President Samrat and his accomplice Arman from Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla, over their alleged involvement with illicit casino operations.
Later, a mobile court sentenced Samrat to six months’ imprisonment under the Wildlife Conservation Act.
