A Dhaka court has framed charges against BNP’s Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayoral candidate Ishraque Hossain in connection with a graft case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in 2010.
Ishraque Hossain, son of former DCC mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka, pleaded not guilty and demanded justice after Judge Shaikh Nazmul Alam of Dhaka’s Special Judge’s Court-4 read out the charges before him.
The court also fixed February 9 to start the trial of the case.
On December 6 of 2018, ACC Deputy Director Jahangir Hossain pressed charges against Ishraque in the case.
According to the prosecution, it was alleged that the ACC on September 1 of 2008 served a notice asking Ishraque to submit his wealth statement to it in seven days. But Ishraque failed to submit his wealth statement to the ACC within the time which was given in the notice.
Later on August 29 of 2010, the ACC filed a case against him with Ramna Police Station
