Block all pornography sites for 6 months: HC

The High Court has asked the government to block all pornography websites and publication of all obscene materials from the electronic forms for the next six months.

An HC bench of Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal passed the order today, responding to a  writ petition filed by Law and Life Foundation seeking necessary directives in this regard.

In its petition, the organization stated that pornography websites are impairing the moral and mental development of the young generation.

After hearing the petition, the court issued a rule for four weeks asking the authorities concerned as to why pornography websites and publication of obscene materials should not be declared illegal.
