Akshay Kumar mocks ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trend in new film

As the teaser reveals, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi’s new film “Selfiee” revolves around the spat between a superfan and a megastar. In the second teaser revealed, the situations take a turn for the worse as inspector Om Prakash (Emraan Hashmi) and superstar Vijay (Akshay Kumar) go head to head, even involving their families.

However, in the snippet released an angry producer can be seen screaming against all the hashtags netizens use to point out all the discriminations in Bollywood. In the next scene, Akshay points at himself jokingly, referring to himself as the reason for the “Boycott Bollywood” and the producer immediately responds “no”.

Through this film, Akshay and Emraan will be sharing the screen together for the first time. “Selfiee” will be released in theaters on February 24. The movie is the official Hindi version of the Malayalam film, “Driving License”, directed by Raj Mehta.
