Abul Hayat honoured with Meril-Prothom Alo Lifetime Achievement award
Veteran actor Abul Hayat received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 26th Meril Prothom Alo Awards. A documentary highlighting his illustrious career was screened at the event today. The award was presented by veteran actress Dilara Zaman. While the managing director of Square Toiletries Ltd, Anjan Chowdhury, draped him with an honorary shawl.
After receiving the award, Abul Hayat shared his thoughts, expressing, “This award is not mine alone.” He expressed his gratitude to his fellow artistes and also thanked the behind-the-scenes contributors of the media industry.
He acknowledged his family as the source of all inspiration, remembering his parents and family members. Abul Hayat dedicated his award to his wife, Shirin Hayat.

A graduate in civil engineering, Abul Hayat embraced acting wholeheartedly and from within, having had his first taste of acting at home during school days.
He recalled that childhood moment as a memorable experience and viewed acting and its associated culture as a cornerstone of his personal growth and a source of inspiration for his journey ahead.
Notably, his family used to call him Robi, and during his school and college years, this Robi came under the influence of another Robi—Rabindranath Tagore—and embraced his literary works as a significant source of inspiration.
