Rohit Shetty reveals Ranveer Singh used to sneak onto Chennai Express sets to meet Deepika Padukone

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have been together for ten years now and have been married for four years. The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, never fail to keep their fans amazed with their lovable quotes about each other – whether it is Ranveer who talks about Deepika’s work ethic or the latter who shares anecdotes about her husband.

Just recently, the couple made an appearance at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. Although they did not officially get clicked together on the red carpet, Ranveer was featured in Deepika’s latest Instagram Reel.

Ranveer and Sooyavanshi director Rohit Shetty appeared today at the Made in India event and talked about several topics looming over the Indian film industry.

Besides this, they also shared a few fun anecdotes from their personal lives. Rohit Shetty, who worked with Ranveer in Simmba (2018), answered a question about working with Deepika in the future.

During the press conference, the director said that he had already worked with Deepika in Chennai Express and during that time Ranveer used to sneak onto the sets to meet the actress. Chennai Express, which was released in 2013, also starred Shah Rukh Khan.

He said, “Aata that chupchaap se sets pe.” Ranveer playfully replied, “Mein aata tha Deepika se milne lekin mein angle kar raha tha Rohit sir se milne.”

Adding how he will make a “hero level” film if he works with Deepika in the future, the director said, “Deepika is quite special. Obviously, karenge sath mein kaam. Jab unke sath kaam karunga toh ‘hero level’ jaisa kaam karna chahiye.”
