Ishraque arrested in case filed for torching vehicle in 2020

Police arrested Engineer Ishraque Hossain, a BNP leader and son of late BNP leader and former mayor of Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) Sadeque Hossain Khoka, from Motijheel area in Dhaka on Wednesday.

He was arrested around 11:00am while distributing Sramik Dal’s leaflet protesting the commodity prices hike.

Md Abdul Ahad, deputy commissioner (Motijheel Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said, “Ishraque Hossain was arrested from Motijheel area at about 11:00am.”

“Ishraque was arrested in accordance with an arrest warrant issued by the court in a case involving the torching of a car,” said DMP’s additional deputy commissioner (Motijheel Zone) Enamul Huaque Mithu.

He said Ishraque was arrested in a case filed for torching vehicle in 2020.
