Spider-Man: No Way Home surpasses the lifetime biz of Bell Bottom and 11 Bollywood releases of 2021 on its opening day

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which hit the screens yesterday, had an earth-shattering opening and earned Rs 32.67 crore on its first day. Apart from becoming the biggest opener of 2021, it also turned out to be the second-highest first-day grosser of all time for a Hollywood film in India after Avengers: Endgame.
While the rave reviews and crazy fan-following of the Spider-Man franchise will make this movie cruise past Rs 100 crore in just 3-4 days, the film itself has surpassed the lifetimes business of popular Bollywood releases of 2021 with its first day collections. With 3264 screens, Spider-Man: No Way Home is the widest Hollywood release in India beating the final part of the Avengers franchise.
These films include Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom (Rs 30.63 crore), Satyameva Jayate 2 (Rs 13.22 crore), Chehre, (Rs 2.55 crore), Tadap (Rs 22.07 crore), Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (Rs 22.61 crore), Thalaivii (Rs 1.46 crore), Mumbai Saga (Rs 16.53 crore), Roohi (Rs 23.25 crore), Saina (Rs 1.16 crore), Bunty Aur Babli 2 (Rs 12.49 crore), Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (Rs 0.35 crore) and others.
