Murad likely to be expelled from AL for life: Quader

Dr Murad Hasan who has lost the portfolio of state minister talking ‘obscene’ language, will also lose other posts in the party.

It was disclosed by Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader while talking to journalists at a press conference at his secretariat office in the capital on Tuesday.

“Decision on Murad Hasan will be taken at the party’s next central working committee meeting,” he said.

Last month, Gazipur city mayor Jahangir Alam was expelled for life from Awami League. The same thing is going to happen in case of newly resigned state minister for information Murad Hasan, said Obaidul Quader.

“What happened to Jahangir [Alam], will also happen to Dr Murad. However, there is no scope to do it without the party’s working committee meeting,” he said.
