Agitating students from various educational institutions in Dhaka have issued two days ultimatum to press home their nine-point demand which they placed during the road safety movement in 2018.
They made the demands while protesting in front of Rapa Plaza in Dhanmondi area of the capital on Saturday.
However, the agitating students have also announced to hold protests in different parts of Dhaka on Sunday and Monday demanding the road safety.
The students said they went to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) office last Thursday to place their nine-point demand. BRTA authorities then asked to give them a week time.
If the government does not fulfill their demands and issued a notification by Tuesday then they would besiege the BRTA office at noon on that day, said the protesting students.
The students said they did not take to the streets for any kind of vandalism. During the 2018 movement, they demanded nine points. Though the government said they accepted the demands but not a single one point of the demands has been implemented so far.
If nine points are not accepted this time, more programmes will be announced from next Tuesday, they said.
