With theatres reopening after nearly 2 years of pandemic shutdown, all movies have queued up for releases. Several filmmakers have blocked festive weekends well in advance till 2023 for their respective films. Speaking of which, Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan’s action film Fighter has blocked Republic Day 2023 for a massive release. However, posing as a tough competition, Luv Ranjan’s untitled film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor too is aiming for Republic Day 2023. That’s right!
This morning, Luv Ranjan made an official announcement on the release date of his upcoming venture with Ranbir and Shraddha. Confirming the release date, he wrote, “Luv Ranjan’s untitled next featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor to release in cinemas on January 26, 2023. “
It can be noted here that Deepika-Hrithik’s Fighter directed by Sidharth Anand was the first one to block Republic Day 2023. But with Ranbir-Shraddha’s romantic comedy announcing the same date as their release date, will DP-Hrithik’s film shift dates? Only time will tell. However, it will be interesting to see which films excels better at the box office if at all both the films clash on the same day.

While Luv Ranjan’s film is touted to be a romantic comedy marking Ranbir and Shraddha’s first outing together, Fighter is said to be a part of an aerial action franchise and will be shot across the world in a rather grand manner. Also, DP and Hrithik too will be seen sharing screen-space for the first time so you can definitely expect fireworks at the box office.
