203 become joint secretaries getting promotion on holiday

The government has given promotion to 203 officials of the civil administration on Friday, the day of weekly holiday.
Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular on Friday promoting 203 deputy secretaries to the post of joint secretary.
According to the rules, the officials have been made officers on special duty (OSDs) giving promotions.
The promotion recipients 203 officials now work at different ministries, divisions and departments. Of them, 10 work at Bangladesh embassies and high commissions abroad.
The Ministry of Public Administration sources said the number of joint secretaries has stood at 803 after promotion. The regular posts of joint secretaries are somewhat more than 400.
