15 Rohingyas detained in Cox’s Bazar



A total of 15 Rohingya people, including women and children, were detained in Islampur area of Cox’s Bazar Sadar.

Locals detained them from Majherpara of ward no-3 of Islampur union around at 11 pm on Friday.

They were brought here to send to Malaysia, locals believe this.

A few men and women were roaming around at night. Their movement seemed suspicious then locals went to them and identified them as Rohingyas. Police were informed, Shahjahan Chowdhury, general secretary of Islampur Union Awami League said: “They gathered for illegal migration”. “Speculation is underway to find out who is behind it,” Mohiuddin, sub-inspector of Eidgaon Police Investigation Center Rohingyas will be sent to camps after investigation, SI added.
