Eid on Friday as moon not sighted today

The National Moon-Sighting Committee has said that the crescent moon of the month of Shawwal was not sighted on Wednesday evening. So, the month of Ramadan this year will be 30 days and the Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday (May 14).

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon-Sighting Committee held at Islamic Foundation conference room at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

The meeting was presided over by the National Moon-Sighting Committee president and state minister for religious affairs Md Faridul Huq Khan.

Islamic Foundation director general Md Mushfiqur Rahman and other members of the National Moon-Sighting Committee were present.
