Bangladesh’s GDP size $411 billion, per capita income $2,554

The size of the Bangladesh’s gross domestic product (GDP) has stood at $411 billion, or Tk 34,840 crore, while the per capita income has reached at $2,554.

Planning Minister MA Mannan stated it after the ending of ECNEC meeting at the National Economic Council (NEC) conference room at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Tuesday.

Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting joining virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban.

MA Mannan said 10 projects were approved at the ECNEC meeting. Besides, all the information including per capita income and total GDP was presented to the Prime Minister.

MA Mannan said, “The size of GDP is now $411 billion while the per capita income has risen to $2,554 US dollars, or Tk 2,16,580.”

He said the foreign exchange reserves have stood at 50 billion US dollars, while the poverty rate has gone down to 20.05 per cent.

Besides, the average life expectatncy has increased to 72.08 years.
